Good News – Wholesale Truck and Finance will!
Christmas has arrived early this year ladies and gentlemen!
18 Wheels of Justice will always lead our audience to exactly what they need. We have been searching for a long time for the best places to present to our audience. We have been buried with emails for months from Drivers looking for a good lease purchase program that is not tied to a specific trucking company. Owner Operators that want to move into a better, more fuel efficient or better looking truck.
How many times have you thought about doing a lease purchase and
the company and the truck never matched up, it just didn’t feel right. You’ll
be glad you waited.
We were fortunate enough to get a chance to speak with Mr. David
Strand, President of Wholesale Truck and Finance, all the way from
Mr. Strand, welcome and we are honored to finally have you here at
18 Wheels of Justice.
First of all, we want to know a little more about you, how you
got involved with selling trucks and some history on Wholesale Trucks and Finance.
I started WTF in 2006 to fill a need in the transportation industry. There are
a lot of good drivers out there who had no way to get into their own truck
because of the barriers to entry, for example, Credit score, down payments to name a
few. At the same time, there are lots of good opportunities with many carriers
that are lease purchase partners with us as well as many others that are not.
It seemed like an opportunity to get involved and make the right equipment available
to the right people. Since then, we’ve had a lot of drivers come back for
second or third trucks once the first was paid for.
What a good story, I’m sure our audience can relate. Now, how
can you provide the financing where other companies can’t? Some of our readers
have had hard times in the past with the economy the way it is and other
issues. We believe in second chances here at 18 Wheels of Justice and it sure
sounds like Wholesale Truck and Finance does, too.
Absolutely. One of the biggest beliefs we have as a company is to
put good drivers into good trucks and let them work. We have seen lots of
drivers who have poor credit and we realize that without a good truck, there is
almost no chance that someone who wants to improve their situation can do so.
We don’t focus solely on credit. We look at the driver, the truck, the work
history and opportunity available to them. If they have a chance to go to a
good company and make a difference in their lives, everyone will win, the
driver, the carrier, and us. We enjoy providing that opportunity.
However, we are looking for committed drivers that will do what it
takes to be successful. Part of that commitment comes in the form of the down
payment. We do not, and never will, offer a $0 down program. Part of our
qualifying process is financing drivers with the ability to have either saved
the money for a down payment, which shows the driver is currently living within
his or her means, or has friends or family that know the driver and they are
willing to offer assistance.
On that note Dave, what is your down payment?
Our down payment for a driver who is not with one of our partner
carriers is $5,000. This includes the first month’s payment. The down payment
if you are with a partner carrier is $3,000. However, if you are driving for a
carrier that will offer settlement deduction, for example, will pay us directly on a
weekly basis, you may qualify for the reduced down payment. We have a simple
process to qualify the carrier and offer our program to them.
Many drivers have dreams of becoming an owner operator and have
the independence and financial security that comes with it. Not to mention
truly living the American Dream of owning their own business. How do you help
them fulfill this dream, can you briefly walk us through the process from
initial phone call to driving away in his or her own truck?
The Truck Financing Process is Simple:
Check out our credit criteria
Fill out an online application
Phone interview with a WTF account rep
Get approved quickly
Choose a truck from our inventory that meets your needs
Send in your down payment
Drive home in your new truck
Wholesale Truck Finance definitely offers a unique solution
facing a majority of company drivers today. What kind of shape are the trucks
in? What is the typical age and mileage range?
These are good used trucks that come from fleets. They will be 50%
or better on brakes, 10/32 or better on tires, new mattresses and DOT
inspected. Most of our trucks are 2006 – 2009 and anywhere from 450,000 to 750,000
miles. And the higher mile trucks are priced accordingly.
I can imagine trucks are moving quickly. Drivers and operators who want to upgrade need to get a hold of Mr. Strand. You had mentioned earlier that this is the best time of year to contact you. Why is now a good time?
With a new year around the corner, we typically see a lot of
drivers upgrading or expanding with the help of a tax return to use as a down
payment. Over the last couple of years the used truck market has gotten more
and more expensive. It is a great time to get into a new truck before trucks
get more expensive and cut into your profits.
However, if you are becoming a first time owner operator, we do
strongly suggest you have an operating account ready. This is typically
$1,500-$2,000 in a business account that is used for truck expenses. Do not
rush into this decision, take your time and do it correctly. We want you to be
successful.
Thank to you Mr. David Strand and Wholesale Truck and Finance!
